Broad-leaved evergreen forest with Pinus kwangtungensis and Podocarpus pilgeri on tops of ridge composed with rocky crystalline solid marble-like highly eroded limestone at elev. 1200-1350 m a.s.l. Palm up to 6(8) m tall on ridge edge and on steep slopes near ridge tops. Fruits yellowish-green. Very common.

Vietnam, Quang Tri Prov., Da Krong Distr., Huc Nghi Municipality, in vicinities of La To village around point 16º29’16’’N 107º00’32’’E at elevation about 414 m a.s.l. Primary broad-leaved evergreen lowland forest on montane hills composed with shale. Terrestrial white ground saprophyte on shady stream slope. Flowers light yellowish, sepal tips dull reddish, disc brightly yellow. Very rare.

Primary coniferous forest with Calocedrus rupestris, Xanthocyparis vietnamensis and Pseudotsuga sinensis on rocky highly eroded marble-like limestone remnant mountains. Tree up to 20 m tall and 0.6 m in diam. Common on tops of hills and along ridge edges. Co-dominant of coniferous forest.

Tree up to 10 m tall on very steep rocky mossy slope and along rocky ridge edge. Mono-dominant of coniferous forest.

Tree up to 15 m tall on very steep rocky mossy slope. Co-dominant of coniferous forest. Rare, probably unique locality, the species was not observed in nearest ridges.

Fractionally logged primary closed evergreen broad-leaved forest along steep stream slopes composed with shale with quartzite. Terrestrial creeping herb in shady places. Sepals olive-brown, lip white. Leaves deep velvety brown-green with pink network of nerves. Rare.

Palm up to 1 m tall on steep rocky slope. Flowers deep green, not ripe fruits yellowish-white. Not common.

Vietnam, Lang Son Prov., Bac Son Distr., Dong Y Municipality, about 5 km to NWW of Bac Son town by road Hanoi – Bac Son. Small spring stream between remnant highly eroded limestone hills on travertine valley with open secondary shrubs and short tall secondary grasslands. In clean water up to 1 m deep. Spathe outside white, brownish to the apex, white with dirty purple spotting inside, female flowers white, later yellowish, male flowers light yellow, inflorescence axis white with heavily dirty purple spotting. Young leaves purple, older brown-green to deep green. Not common.

Tree about 10 m tall and 0.6 m in diam. Common dominant of first forest stratum on tops of ridge.
