Primary fractionally logged coniferous forest with Pseudotsuga sinensis along highly eroded rocky limestone ridge at elevation about 1400 m a.s.l. Ascending terrestrial and lithophytic herb with leaves to 1 m (and more) long on rocky mountain slope. Not common.

Primary evergreen broad-leaved forest mixed with conifers (Xanthocyparis vietnamensis, Nageia fleuryi, Pseudotsuga sinensis, Calocedrus rupestris, Taxus chinensis) at the top of rocky limestone mountain, under shaded places at the middle of mountains. Terrestrial or lithophytic perennial herb; single flower at adaxial leaf base, tepals green and turn brown when dried. Very common,. VP 053, December 19, 2016. Primary closed evergreen mixed wet mossy forest (with Cupressus, Taxus, Nagea and Pseoudotsuga) along tops of karst remnant limestone ridge at elev. 1100-1150 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on high mossy trees. Vietnam, Ha Giang Prov., Meo Vac Distr, Pa Vi Municipality, vicinities of Pa Vi Thuong village around point 23°11′05″N, 105°24′04″E at elevation about 1450 m a.s.l.

Highly degraded remnants of coniferous forest with Pseudotsuga sinensis on very steep rocky slopes and along tops of rocky remnant ridges composed with highly eroded marble-like limestone.

Lithophytic herb on very steep rocky mossy slope. Flowers black-violet, stigma white, fruits green with dirty-violet tint. Not common.

Primary broad-leaved and mixed humid evergreen forest (with Podocarpus, Pinus, Fokienia and Tsuga) on very steep slopes and along rocky ridge composed with solid crystalline highly eroded limestone at elevation about 1500-1550 m a.s.l. around point 22°49'15.4"N 105°49'53"E. Large humus epiphyte on old tree in shady humid karst funnel on rocky mossy mountain slope. Flowers dull yellow to almost white, perianth segments dirty purple-brown, anthers and stigma dull yellowish. Very rare. 21 November 2014 CPC 7576 photos. Creeping lithophytic vine to 1.5 m long with large erect pseudobulbs. Flowers yellowish. Locally very common.

Primary fractionaly logged coniferous forest with Pseudotsuga sinensis along highly eroded rocky limestone ridge at elevation about 1400 m a.s.l. Terrestrial herb with thick plagiotropic rhizome to 30 cm long and erect leaves to 0.8 m long in dark humid depression between shady cliffs in middle part of mountain slope. Primary fractionaly logged coniferous forest with Pseudotsuga sinensis along highly eroded rocky limestone ridge at elevation about 1400 m a.s.l. Terrestrial herb with thick plagiotropic rhizome to 30 cm long and erect leaves to 0.8 m long in dark humid depression between shady cliffs in middle part of mountain slope. Flower buds ovoid, 2-3 cm in diam, dirty violet to dirty purple outside. Ha Giang prov., Quan Ba distr., Bat Dai Son commune, Bat Dai Son Nature Reserve, San Chu village, around point 23º08ʹ55.1ʺN 104º59ʹ45.7ʺE, 1100-1290 m a.s.l., karstic, highly eroded mountains composed of solid marble-like limestone, primary evergreen coniferous humid forest with Pseudotsuga sinensis on rocky mountain tops and ridges.
