Primary humid evergreen broad-leaved forest on very steep rocky slopes and on tops of remnant mountain composed with highly eroded marble-like solid crystalline limestone at elevation 1350-1500 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on mossy tree. Flowers light yellowish, lip purple. Not common.

N. Vietnam, prov. Ha Giang, distr. Yen Minh, municipality Du Gia, E slopes of Phu Tha Ca mountain system at 1300-1500 m elev. (N 23ø56' E 105ø13'). Primary evergreen broadleaved very wet mountain forest on shale very steep slopes. Chlorophylless saprophyte with erect white stems up to 20 cm hg in shady steep rocky shale-quartzite slopes. Flowers odorless: sepals white, with violet tint; petals white; lip with deep-purple marks inside along median part, side lobes white, with deep-purple numerous spots, outside lip white; column white; anther light yellowish; ovary white with violet tint. Not rare.

Remnants of primary evergreen broad-leaved very humid forest along river. Clustering epiphyte on old mossy tree along stream. Locally common. 7 October 2019, L. Averyanov, Nguyen Sinh Khang, T. Secondary evergreen broad-leaved forest on very steep rocky slopes composed with red-brown sandstone and shale at elevation 1300-1500 m a.s.l.

Terrestrial herb on steep shady slope. Fruits dirty purple-brown to almost black. Locally very common to abundant.

Secondary broad-leaved dry forest on very steep rocky slopes of remnant mountains composed by solid marble-like crystalline limestone at elevation about 300 m a.s.l. Terrestrial and lithophytic herb with thick semi-woody creeping underground rhizome in shady places. Leaves very dark green, to almost black, fleshy, coriaceous. Locally common.

Slightly logged primary closed evergreen broad-leaved lowland forest with the dominance of species of Dipterocarpaceae (Dipterocarpus dyeri, D. costatus, D. alatus, D. obtusifolius, Shorea sp.) mixed with Lagerstroemia calyculata, Irvingia malayana, Anogeissus acuminata, Sindora siamensis, Pterospermum sp., on thin soils at elevation about 13 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on boles of old trees in shady places. Rare.
