Braem).

N. Vietnam, Prov. Son La, Distr. Moc Chau, Mun. Dong Sang, vill. Ba Phach, 20ø49'N, 104ø39'E, 1000-1100 m a.s.l. Lithophytic herb in heavily logged evergreen tropical seasonal broad-leaved submontane forest on lightly shaded vertical cliffs, in cracks or narrow shelves of south-east slope of limestone mountains near the ridge top. Dorsal sepal white, with pink-violet tint and numerous purple-brown spots at the center. Main forest dominantes are Acer sp., Lithocarpus sp., Quercus sp.sp., Polyalthia sp., Pistacia weinmannifolia, Schefflera pes-avis, Phyllanthus sp.sp., Quercus sp.sp., Sapotaceae, etc. Common ferns and herbs in understory are Cyrtomium hemionitis, C. pachyphyllum, Polystichum sp., Pteris deltodon, Phaphiopedilum dianthum, Begonia sp.sp., Carex phankei, and Urticaceae sp.sp. In population of P. barbigerum var. lockii. Very rare, only one specimen.

Mixed and broad-leaved evergreen secondary closed wet mt forest on steep shale slopes. Terrestrial and lithophytic herb on shady steep slope along stream. Leaves tessellated with deep and light green. Flowers of typical coloration. Locally very common.

Terrestrial and epilitic herb in rather open places. Flowers greenish with olive-pink. Rare, but occasionally abundant.

Closed primary broadleaved forest along mt ridge between Bi Dup and Gia Rinh mt. mt at 1800-1900 m alt. (N 12° 07', E 108° 42'). Terrestrial herb. Not common, but occasionally abundant. Sepals green-pink, petal green with brown center, lip olive-brownish-green, synsepalum whitish-green. Leaves with clear dark green - whitish green tesselation.

Terrestrial and epilitic herb on rocky steep slopes. Not common.

Vietnam, Dak Nong Prov., Dak Glong Distr., Dak Plao Municipality, steep mountain slopes along main ridge of Ta Dung mountain system at elevation 1700-1985 m a.s.l. around point of highest peak at 11º51’30’’N 108º02’08’’E.

Primary broad-leaved evergreen closed wet mossy cloudy forest on crystalline highly metamorphosed sandstone. Terrestrial and lithophyte rosulate herb on mossy slope. Leaves glossy dark- light green tessellated. Not common.

Terrestrial and lithophytic herb in dense forest at elevation 1200-1300 m. Leaves tessellated with dark/light green, flowers of typical coloration. Very common.

hodginsii, Dacrydium elatum, Dacrycarpus imbricatus) along ridge tops at elev. 1200 m. Terrestrial and occasionally epilitic herb at base of old trees in wet mossy shady places. Locally common. Central sepal light green with olive-brownish base, petals light pink-violet with green base and deep brown spots and warts along upper margin, sometimes with indistinct brownish stripes toward base. Lip dull pinkish-violet with green base and green margin. Synsepalum light apple green. Staminode emerald green with yellowish-white margin and central spot.

Vietnam, Quang Binh Prov., Bo Trach Distr., Tan Trach Municipality, about 1.5 km to SE of A Rem village (17°23′32′'N, 106°12′46′'E).

Primary closed coniferous forest (with Calocedrus rupestris) on steep slopes and on tops of rocky ridge composed with solid marble-like highly eroded stratified crystalline limestone at elevation about 750-900 m a.s.l.

Lithophytic herb on shady vertical cliffs and occasional epiphyte on Calocedrus. Flowers light dull yellow, lip dull orange. Common.

Dry broad-leaved primary and secondary evergreen and semideciduous forest on very steep rocky slopes and on vertical cliffs of remnant highly eroded rocky limestone mountains composed by solid crystalline limestone at elevation 500-1000 m.

Creeping epiphyte and lithophyte on mossy rocks. Flowers light yellowish-pink. Locally common.

Primary mixed and coniferous evergreen humid forest with (Pinus sp., Pseudotsuga sinensis, Podocarpus neriifolius) on very steep slopes and on mountain tops composed by solid highly eroded limestone at elevation 1200-1300 m a.s.l. around point 22°45’24.8’’N 105°46’47.9’’E. Lithophytic herb on shady cliffs near mountain tops. Flowers dull pale yellow. Lip with 2 yellow-orange spots. Not common.

Primary broad-leaved forest on very steep slopes and rocky cliffs of remnant mountain composed with solid marble-like highly eroded limestone at elevation 400-700 m a.s.l. Pendent lithophyte and epiphyte on very steep slope and on shelves of vertical cliffs. Flowers light pink-yellow to nearly white, lip with 3 yellow-orange spots. Not common.

S. Vietnam, Prov. Lam Dong, distr. Lac Duong, municipalite Da Chay,
26-28 km to NE from Dalat city. Old open secondary dry coniferous mt
forest with domination of Pinus kesiya at 1500-1700 m alt. in 8-10 km
from Bi Dup main peak to the NW (N 12° 07′, E 108° 36′).
Epiphyte on mossy trees, mostly on Lyonia sp. Flowers yellowish-white,
lip with 2 yellow spots in the center. Rare, but occasionally
abundant.

remnant limestone highly eroded ridge at elev. 1400-1500 m a.s.l. Epiphyte, mainly on Calocedrus macrolepis. Abundant.

Epiphyte on tall trees. Flowers white, lip with two yellow spots. Very common.

Vietnam, Ha Giang Prov., Quan Ba Distr, Can Ty Municipality, about 3 km to NWW of Quan Ba town, around point 23°05′49″N, 105°00′28″E at elevation about 1200 m a.s.l.

Primary mossy cloudy coniferous forest with Pseudotsuga sinensis on tops of high rocky ridge composed with highly eroded marble-like limestone along left side of Mien river.

Epiphyte on mossy tree on shady rocky slope. Flowers light dull yellow, lip with three yellow-brownish spot at the center and light yellowish-brown apex. Rare.
