Энс процитировал полиномиал, соответствующий Crepis lyrata, из книги Gmelin, Flora Sibirica 2: 24. 1749. Это определение резко ошибочно, поскольку растение Гмелина имеет широкие стеблеобъемлющие листья, а у растения Энса листья линейно-ланцетные. Возможно, Энс получил в свою коллекцию только верхушку растения, поэтому и не дописал полиномиал из-за отсутствия базальных листьев. Растение было собрано в Петербурге и в то время, скорее всего, было недавно занесенным с юга экзотом. Странно, что сразу по возвращении с Украины Энс не опознал этот броский вид, обильный в степной зоне Европы, но он явно был привлечен необычностью этого растения для Петербурга. [А. Сенников]

Полиномиал заимствован из книги Аммана (Amman 1739: 148) и соответствует Hieracium virosum. Такое определение находится в грубом противоречии с растением Энса; в отличие от растения, описанного Амманом как имеющего широкие стеблеобъемлющие листья, у растения Энса листья линейные. В Европе этот характерный степной вид к тому времени был еще не известен по причине слабой исследованности европейских степей; он был описан из Сибири Гмелином как Hieracium foliis longe ligulatis, pilosis, caule imo folioso, erecto, multifloro (Gmelin, Flora Sibirica 2: 34. 1749). Очевидно, сбор Энса является первой коллекцией этого вида из Восточной Европы (и, скорее всего, из Европы в целом). [А. Сенников]
