Amorphophallus campanulatus
N. Vietnam, prov. Quang Ninh, distr. Hon Gai, Halong bay, Dan Go
island. Secondary broadleaved evergreen forest on steep limestone
slopes and vertical bluffs on elevations 0-100 m above s.l.
Terrestrial and lithophyte forb on rocky cliff. Petiole tessellated
with light green/whitish, strong warted. Spathe brown-violet with
yellow at the middle inside, tessellated with white/greenish spots at
the base outside. Apex of axis deep brownish-violet, female flowers
dirty yellow, male flowers deep brown. Flowers with strong specific
(not rather unpleasant) smell. Tuber of flower size plant about 20 cm
in diam., subspherical, slightly compressed from poles. Very common,
but rare in flowers. Very common.
