N. Vietnam, prov. Ha Giang, distr. Yen Minh, municipality Lao Va Chai,
vicinities of Ngan Chai village, 6 km to W of Yen Minh town (N 23ø07'
E 105ø08'). Primary evergreen wet mossy mixed forest (with domination
of Tsuga chinensis and Pinus kwangtungensis) along tops of karst
remnant limestone ridge at 1500-1600 m elev. Lithophyte herb on shady
vertical cliffs. Leaves uniformly light green with purple petiole.
Flowers pink. Very common at 1450-1500 m. Codominanthe of herb
lithophyte communities.

Vientiane Prov., Vang Vieng Distr., Nathong village, about 5 km to the W of Vang Vieng town, Tham Kang Mt., around point 18°55’51.4”N 102°23’50.6”E.

Dry broad-leaved primary and secondary evergreen forest on very steep rocky slopes and on vertical cliffs of remnant highly eroded rocky limestone mountains composed by solid crystalline limestone at elevation 300-500 m.

Undershrub to 2 m tall in open rocky slopes and exposed cliffs place. Flowers light pink, fragrant. Anther and stigmas yellow. Very common.

Primary broad-leaved evergreen closed forest on very steep slopes and
cliffs near tops of rocky ridge composed with solid marble-like
stratified limestone.

Lithophyte in crevices of vertical cliffs. Flowers: tepals white,
red-purple outside, anthers and stigmata yellow. Leaves deep
green-brown with light green nerves above, dull brown-violet with light

Fractionally logged primary closed evergreen broad-leaved forest along tops of ridge composed with rocky quartzite outcrops. Terrestrial herb up to 1.5 m tall in shady place. Flowers red. Leaves uniform green on both sides. Common.

Heavily logged primary closed evergreen broad-leaved forest on slopes and tops of mountains composed with solid highly eroded crystalline limestone at elev. about 900-1150 m a.s.l.

Lithophytic herb on vertical cliffs. Flowers pink, anthers and stigma yellow. Leaves deep green, deep purple below. Locally very common.
