Paphiopedilum gratrixianum (Mast.) Guillaum. var. daoense Aver.
N. Vietnam, prov. Son La, distr. Moc Chau, municipality Chieng Hac, vicinities of Co Liu village (N 20º51' E 104º38'). Primary evergreen broadleaved wet mossy forest along rocky tops of remnant karst limestone ridge at 1200-1240 m elev. Lithophyte forb on mossy vertical shady cliffs of N exposition. Not common. Flowered in horto in January 2006. Flowers odorless, central sepal white with light pink tint at the middle and purple-brown spots, petals and lip light yellow-brownish.
