Bac Kan Province, Ba Be District, Cao Thuong Community, Ba Be National Park. Primary and old secondary evergreen broad-leaved forest on very steep rocky slopes composed by white crystalline marble-like highly eroded limestone around point 22º27’20’’N 105º36’06’E at elevation of about 750 m a.s.l. Terrestrial palm-like plant with underground tuber-like stem and 1-5 leaves to 2 m long on very steep rocky slope. Young plants locally common. Mature samples not seen.
