Bac Kan Province, Ba Be District, Ba Be National Park. Primary and old secondary evergreen broad-leaved forest on very steep rocky slopes composed by white crystalline marble-like highly eroded limestone around point 22º27’26’’N 105º36’12’E at elev. of 600-800 m a.s.l. Terrestrial rhizomatous herb with underground thick rhizome in shady rocky place. Leaves very rigid, dark green to almost black. Locally very common.
