Ha Giang Prov., Quan Ba Distr., Cao Ma Po Commune, Then Van 1 Village, Binh Mountain, around point 23.09452ºN 104.84831ºE, steep rocky slopes composed with highly eroded limestone at elevation 1400–1600 m a.s.l. Remnants of primary evergreen broad-leaved very humid forest with plantation of “wild-grown” Amomum. Herbaceous vine to 3 m long in open place. Flowers light pink, anther yellow. New variety differs from the type inbroadly lanceolate leaves much longer than broad and cuneate leaf base (vs.leaves broadly ovate to circular, almost as long as broad, with deeply cordatebase).
