cliffs near and on tops of rocky ridge composed with solid marble-like stratified limestone. Tree up to 12 m tall on tops of ridge. Common.

Primary broad-leaved evergreen montane forest along tops of granite/quartzite ridge at elev. 2400-2650 m a.s.l. Shrub 1.5-2 m hg in open rocky slope. Flowers white. Very common.

Primary broad-leaved humid forest on steep granite slopes at elevation about 2350 m a.s.l. around point 19°12’21.2’’N 104°11’28.9’’E. Epiphitic shrub, fruit green, leaves green and red-violet, common.

Northern Vietnam, Lao Cai Prov., Van Ban Distr., Khanh Yen Ha municipality, to the SW of Na Nheo village (in the vicinity of point 21ш58'39''N, 104ш14'35''E). Primary closed evergreen broad-leaved submontane forest with Fokienia hodginsii on steep granite and quartzite slopes at elev. 1250-1350 m a.s.l. Tree 12-15 m hg on very steep slope. Flowers light pink-violet with deep violet spot inside tube at the base. Occasional (lower limit of altitudinal distribution in the area).

Primary broad-leaved evergreen montane wet forest on granite and quartzite along stream canyon at elev. 1750-1800 m a.s.l. Epiphytic vine, or epiphyte climbing shrub. Ripe fruits purple-violet-black, edible. Not rare.

Epiphytic climbing shrub on tall mossy tree. Flowers light green. Occasional.
