Northern Vietnam, Lao Cai Prov., Van Ban Distr., to the west of Nam Xay village (21ш58'42''N, 104ш00'37''E). Primary broad-leaved evergreen wet montane forest with Fokienia hodginsii (as emergent) on rocky slope at elev. 1650 m a.s.l. Epiphytic vine in Fokienia hodginsii canopies. Very common. Usual co-dominant of epiphytic plant community on old samples of Fokienia.

Primary coniferous forest with Calocedrus rupestris, Callitropsis vietnamensis and Pseudotsuga sinensis on rocky highly eroded marble-like limestone remnant mountains. Shrub up to 2.5 m tall flowers brightly yellow, anthers brown. Not rare.
