Secondary broadleaved evergreen closed forest in humid wet depression between remnant mountains composed with rocky highly eroded crystalline limestone at elev. about 100 m a.s.l. Almost stemless palm with leaves to 4 m long among mossy shady rocks. Occasional.

Primary broad-leaved evergreen wet forest on shale at elevation 1000-1200 m a.s.l. around point 19°58’18.2’’N 104°59’24.0’’E. Palm 2-3 m tall on shady slope near ridge edge. Very common.

Remnants of primary and secondary broad-leaved evergreen dry forest on cliffs and on very steep slopes of remnant hill composed by highly eroded stratified dark gray shale limestone at elevation 500-700 m a.s.l. around point 20°40’35.4’’N 104°48’14.3’’E. Palm to 1.5 m tall on very steep rocky mossy slope near mountain top. Very common.

Remnants of primary broadleaved evergreen forest on top of remnant mountain composed with solid highly eroded limestone at elevation 1000-1100 m a.s.l. Palm to 4 m tall. Flowers yellowish. Locally very common.

Pinanga cupularis A.J.Hend., N.K.Ban & N.Q.Dung?

Gia Lai Province, K’Bang District. Primary fractionally logged evergreen broad-leaved forest with Dacrycarpus imbricatus on shale and granite at elevation of about 900 m a.s.l., around point 14º28’N 108º32’E. Miniature, erect, not branching palm to 1.5 m tall on shady slope. Fruits bright red, sweet, juicy, edible. Very rare.
