Primary broad-leaved closed wet forest on very steep rocky slopes and cliffs of low remnant mountains composed with highly eroded solid marble-like limestone at elevation 400-500 m a.s.l. Terrestrial herb on shady slope composed mixed with solid eroded limestone and shale. Leaves dark green to 1.5 m long and 20 cm wide. Flower buds purple. Fruit gray, globular, about 4 cm in diam.
