Creeping lithophytic herb on open mossy boulders and cliffs on rocky top of limestone ridge. Leaved dark purple-violet underside. Very common.

Common. Flowered in culture at 01 August 2001. Flowers unpleasant fish smelled: column and tepals except lip light dull yellowish-green, outside with brown-pink tint along midvein; lip light dull yellow-greenish with dark brown-purple margins and apex; columnfoot inside purple-violet. Broad-leaved evergreen primary closed wet forest along steep rocky slopes and cliffs of shady stream canyon. Terrestrial creeping herb on shady stream slopes. Leaves dark velvety green with pink nerves. Rare.

Vientiane Prov., Vang Vieng Distr., Nathong village, about 5 km to the W of Vang Vieng town, Tham Kang Mt., around point 18°55′51.4”N 102°23′50.6”E. Dry broad-leaved primary and secondary evergreen forest on very steep rocky slopes and on vertical cliffs of remnant highly eroded rocky limestone mountains composed by solid crystalline limestone at elevation 300-500 m. Epiphyte on tall trees. Common.
