Primary broad-leaved evergreen dry forest on very steep slopes of highly eroded remnant limestone ridge at elev. 450-500 m a.s.l. Terrestrial tuberiferous saprophyte in dry steep slope with bamboo. Flowers with strong, very pleasant fragrance, tepals light purple-violet, column white. Rare.

Doritis pulcherrima Lindl. var. apiculata Aver. var.nov. Type
Vietnam, Dac Lac Prov., Buon Don Distr., Krong Na municipality, Yok Don national park, around point 12°51′27”N 107°41′52”E. Open dry semi-deciduous Dipterocarpus forest on thin ferralite gray soils at elevation about 200 m a.s.l. along Srepok river valley. Terrestrial herb on ferralite weathered horizon on steep slopes of small dry streamlet. Locally common.

Vietnam, Dac Lac Prov., Ea H’Leo Distr., Ea Ral municipality, around point 13°13′45″N 108°10′58″E. Primary swamp coniferous forest with Glyptostrobus pensilis at elevation about 570 m a.s.l. Terrestrial swampy herb in dense shrubs. Flowers white, tepals with light purple spots. Column yellow. Rare.

Vietnam, Binh Phuoc Prov., Phuoc Long Distr., Bu Gia Map Municipality, steep hill slopes along Dak Huit river valley, around point 12º16’11’’N 107º09’25’’E at elev. about 350-400 m a.s.l. Primary closed evergreen and semi deciduous broad-leaved lowland dry forest and open woodlands on basalt and shale mother rocks. Epiphyte on high trees. Flowers pure white, anther slightly yellowish. Locally common.
