Gastrodia tonkinensis Aver. et Averyanova, sp.nov. (type)

N.Vietnam, Ha Tinh Prov., Huong Son Distr., Son Hong Municipality, around point 18º34'06''N, 105º11'40''E. Heavily logged primary broad-leaved evergreen dry forest on steep mt slopes and along ridge composed with shale at elev. about 350-400 m a.s.l. Small ground achlorophyllous light yellowish-brown saprophyte. Flower

buds light yellow-brownish with brown stripes. Very rare.

FLORA OF VIETNAM

Habenaria calcicola Aver.

Phu Tho Prov., Tan Son Distr., Xuan Son Municipality, Du village, around point 21°06’57”N 104°57’17”E (Xuan Son national park). Primary broad-leaved closed wet forest on very steep rocky slopes and cliffs of low remnant mountains composed with highly eroded solid marble-like limestone at elevation 400-500 m a.s.l. Lithophytic and terrestrial tuberiferous herb on very steep rocky slope and on cliffs. Occasional.

Flowered under cultivation in August-September 2009. Flowers with light sweet fragrance, light green, anthers yellow. Coll.: L.Averyanov HAL 12681aa (epitype)
