Flowers yellow, tepals with purple-brownish spots, lip yellow, gypochile with purple-brownish spots, center of epichile brightly yellow, margin- white. Not rare.

Tepals yellow with brown-reddish spots, lip with yellow center and white fringes. Locally very common.

Collections between 22.13.03 N, 106.04.2 at 723m elevation and 22.13.01 N, 106.04 E at 754m elevation. Collected with N.T. Hiep, L.V. Averyanov, B. Hall & N.Q. Vietnam, Thanh Hoa Prov., Muong Lat Distr. at elev. about 600-800 m a.s.l. Broad-leaved evergreen lowland forest on slopes of remnant mountains composed with solid highly eroded crystalline limestone. Epiphyte. Flowers with unpleasant smell of decaying protein. Sepals and petals dark olive-green with numerous deep purple-brown spots; lip white (hypochile with light green tint) with brown-purple spots; operculum very light yellow heavily brown-purple spotted at the base; ovary deep green with purple-brown tint, purple-brown spotted at the base. Very rare.

Hoa Binh, Mai Chau District, Van Mai Municipality along road between Van Mai and Thanh Hoa, approx. 2 km SW of Van Mai municipal buildings, then trail E between 2 ridges approx. 5 km E then SW to top of near two ridges. Collections from disturbed secondary forest on ridgetop with bamboo and lack of mosses on rocks. Remnants of primary forest and herbaceous vegetation on upper slopes, on limestone and shale soils with large, anciently eroded marble-like limestone. 20°34'17"N 105°01'58"E 648 m Common, widespread at ridgetop; sterile lithophytic and epiphytic.

S. Vietnam, Kontum Prov., Kon Plong Distr., Hieu Municipality, Mang La forest enterprise (14°39′N, 108°25′E). Primary broad-leaved and mixed (with Dacrydium and Dacrycarpus) evergreen dry mountain forest at elev. about 1100-1200 m on sandstone. Epiphyte on high tree. Not rare.
