Northern Vietnam, Thai Nguyen Prov., Vo Nhai Distr., Thuong Nung Municipality, in the vicinity of point 21ø48'50''N, 105ø57'05''E. Primary dry evergreen seasonal broad-leaved forest (with Burretiodendron hsienmu as a main co-dominant of the first forest stratum) on highly eroded remnant ridge composed with solid hard
marble like limestone at elev. 550 m a.s.l. Terrestrial ephemeroid tuberiferous herb in open grassy place among rocks. Locally common.

Flowers odorless; tepals white with pink-violet tint toward the base; lip with purple nerves at side-lobes; at the base of epichile yellowish callus; at the base of lip transversal purple ridge, with yellowish apex; column yellowish-white, anther dark purple, pollinia yellow. Photos. L. Averyanov.
