Remnants of primary broad-leaved evergreen and coniferous forest along tops of rocky ridges and mesae composed with light gray solid marble-like highly eroded crystalline limestone. Lithophyte on very steep rocky mossy slope. Flowers dull olive-green, lip deep violet. Rare.

Northern Vietnam, Lao Cai Prov., Van Ban Distr., Khanh Yen Ha municipality, to the SW of Na Nheo village (in the vicinity of point 21°58′39′'N, 104°14′35′'E). Primary closed evergreen broad-leaved submontane forest on steep granite and quartzite mountain slopes at elev. 800-1200 m a.s.l. Terrestrial herb on wet shady slope. Flowers greenish with violet tint. Not rare.

Terrestrial and lithophytic herb along steep rocky shady stream slopes. Flower buds light green with violet tint. Not common.
