N. Vietnam, prov. Ha Giang, distr. Yen Minh, municipality Lao Va Chai, vicinities of Ngan Chai village, 6 km to W of Yen Minh town (N 23ø07' E 105ø08'). Primary evergreen wet mossy mixed forest (with domination of Tsuga chinensis and Pinus kwangtungensis) along tops of karst remnant limestone ridge at 1500-1600 m elev. Epiphyte. Not common.

Secondary closed broad-leaved evergreen forest and scrub on rocky steep slopes of remnant mountains composed with solid highly eroded crystalline deep gray limestone.

Creeping lithophyte on steep rocky slope near top of mountain. Flowers white, anther yellow. Common. Leaves deep green-brown with three pink longitudinal nerves.

Heavily logged primary closed evergreen broad-leaves forest on steep slopes of rocky ridge composed with solid marble-like highly eroded stratified crystalline limestone at elevation about 650-750 m a.s.l.
Creeping lithophyte. Leaves deep green with white nerves. Flowers white, operculum yellow. Not rare.

Creeping lithophyte on steep rocky slope near top of mountain. Flowers white, anther yellow. Common. Leaves deep green-brown with three pink longitudinal nerves.

Highly degraded primary and secondary evergreen broadleaved forest on very steep rocky slopes of remnant limestone hills composed with highly eroded marble-like crystalline limestone.

Creeping lithophytic herb on shady rocky slope. Leaves velvety dark green with 3-5 white nerves. Not rare.

Lithophytic creeping herb on vertical cliff along stream. Leaves dark velvety green with 3-5 whitish longitudinal stripes. Not common.

Son La Prov., Son La City, Chieng Co Municipality, around point 21°18’24”N 103°52’53”E. Highly degraded primary evergreen dry open broad-leaved forest on very steep rocky slopes and on tops of remnant mountain composed with highly eroded marble-like solid crystalline limestone at elevation 800-900 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on old mossy gnarled tree on tops of ridge. Tepals white with purple-violet tint, lip purple, column light violet, anther yellow. Very rare.
