S. Vietnam, Kontum Prov., Kon Plong Distr., Hieu Municipality, Mang La forest enterprise (14ø39'N, 108ø25'E). Primary wet mossy mountain coniferous forest on sandstone (with Pinus dalatensis, Fokienia

hodginsii, Dacrydium elatum, Dacrycarpus imbricatus) along ridge tops at elev. 1200 m. Terrestrial and occasionally epilitic herb at base of old trees in wet mossy shady places. Locally common. Central sepal light green with olive-brownish base, petals light pink-violet with green base and deep brown spots and warts along upper margin, sometimes with indistinct brownish stripes toward base. Lip dull pinkish-violet with green base and green margin. Synsepalum light apple green. Staminode emerald green with yellowish-white margin and central spot.

Primary closed broadleaved evergreen forest along bluffs of giant waterfall in upper reaches of Lieng Ly river on E macroslope of Hon Giao mt. ridge at 1300 m alt. (N 12° 12′, E 108° 44′). Terrestrial and epilitic herb on rocky steep slopes. Not common.

(N 12° 11′, E 108° 43′). Terrestrial, epilitic or humus epiphytic herb on steep wet shadow slopes of stream canyon. Petals olive-green-brownish with pink tips, sepal greenish, lip olive-green. Rare.

Collected in the wild: N. Vietnam, Son La Prov., Moc Chau Distr., Dong Sang Municipality, village Ba Phach, 20ø49'N, 104ø39'E, 1000-1100 m a.s.l., south-east slope of limestone mountains, vertical bluffs near top. Scattered or clustered in small groups in heavily logged evergreen tropical seasonal broad-leaved submontane forest, lightly shaded vertical cliffs, grows in cracks or narrow shelves. Trees are Acer sp., Lithocarpus spp., Quercus spp., Polyalthia sp., Pistacia weinmannifolia, Schefflera pes-avis, Phyllanthus spp., Quercus spp., one species of Sapotaceae, etc. Ferns are Cyrtomium hemionitis, C. pachyphyllum, Polystichum sp., Pteris deltodon. Some Begonia spp., Carex phankei, Urticaceae, etc. Very rare.

Cultivated at Hanoi, Tuan Anh nursery.

Mixed and broad-leaved evergreen secondary closed wet mt forest on steep shale slopes. Terrestrial and lithophytic herb on shady steep slope along stream. Leaves tessellated with deep and light green. Flowers of typical coloration. Locally very common.

Lithophytic herb in heavily logged evergreen tropical seasonal broad-leaved submontane forest on lightly shaded vertical cliffs, in cracks or narrow shelves of south-east slope of limestone mountains near the ridge top. Dorsal sepal white, with pink-violet tint and numerous purple-brown spots at the center. Main forest dominantes are Acer sp., Lithocarpus sp., Quercus sp.sp., Polyalthia sp., Pistacia weinmannifolia, Schefflera pes-avis, Phyllanthus sp.sp., Quercus sp.sp., Sapotaceae, etc. Common ferns and herbs in understory are Cyrtomium hemionitis, C. pachyphyllum, Polystichum sp., Pteris deltodon, Phaphiopedilum dianthum, Begonia sp.sp., Carex phankei, and Urticaceae sp.sp. In population of P. barbigerum var. lockii. Very rare, only one specimen.

Panisea uniflora (Lindl.) Lindl.

Vietnam, Quang Binh Prov., Bo Trach Distr., Tan Trach Municipality, about 1.5 km to SE of A Rem village (17°23′32′'N, 106°12′46′'E).

Primary closed coniferous forest (with Calocedrus rupestris) on steep slopes and on tops of rocky ridge composed with solid marble-like highly eroded stratified crystalline limestone at elevation about 750-900 m a.s.l.

Lithophytic herb on shady vertical cliffs and occasional epiphyte on Calocedrus. Flowers light dull yellow, lip dull orange. Common.

Kham Mouan Prov., Bounlapha Distr., Thong Sam village, Hinnam No Protected Area, Pu Pha Song Mt. composed by sandstone, around point 17°35’13.2”N 105°47’49.8”E. Primary evergreen broad-leaved and mixed forest on W macroslope at elevation from 500 m to the mountain top elevated to 1425 m. Terrestrial and lithophytic herb in dense forest at elevation 1200-1300 m. Leaves tessellated with dark/light green, flowers of typical coloration. Very common.

Vientiane Prov., Vang Vieng Distr., Na Po village, about 12 km to the W of Vang Vieng town, Pa Nang Oua Mt., around point 18°55’44.9”N 102°20’20.1”E. Dry broad-leaved primary and secondary evergreen and semideciduous forest on very steep rocky slopes and on vertical cliffs of remnant highly eroded rocky limestone mountains composed by solid crystalline limestone at elevation 500-1000 m. Creeping epiphyte and lithophyte on mossy rocks. Flowers light yellowish-pink. Locally common.

Quang Nam Prov., Dai Loc Distr., Dai Hong municipality, environs of Dai Hong town around point 15°49′19”N 107°56′58”E. Remnants of primary broadleaved evergreen forest on rocky sandy uplifted plateau composed with eroded sandstone at elev. about 500 m a.s.l. Terrestrial rosulate herb in shady place on slope of small rocky stream. Rare.

Lai Chau Prov., Tam Duong Distr., Ho Thau Community, Ho Thau village, around point 22°23′05″N 103°36′46″E. Secondary and primary evergreen closed forest on very steep mountain slopes composed with granite and quartzite at elevation from 1500 to 1900 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on mossy tall trees along mossy ridge edge. Flowers white. Abundant.
