Primary closed evergreen and semi deciduous broad-leaved lowland dry forest and open woodlands on hill slopes on basalt and shale mother rocks. Tepals from pale green to pale pink with purple veins, lip with central brightly purple-violet spot on epichile. Rare.

Terrestrial herb 0.5 tall on wet shady alluvial bottom of limestone mountain. Fruits juicy, orange. Not common.

Plant cultivated in private garden of Mr Vo Van Cong in Pleiku City, originated from Dak Lak province, Kon Ka Kinh National Park, with no exact locality. Purchased in 2015 by V.V. Cong. It is observed as locally abundant plant. 13 October 2016 6 living plants L.Averyanov, T.Maisak, AL 262 In culture leaves remain almost all around the year.

Leaves collected for herbarium in 20 January 2018 and in 25 September 2018.

vicinities of Kim Son village (N 21°48′ E 105°54′), 23.3 km to 18° of
Thai Nguyen city. Primary broadleaved evergreen dry forest along tops
of karst remnant limestone ridge at elev. 450-550 m a.s.l. Terrestrial
forb among shady rocks. Leaves green, with deep green spots above,
pink-violet below. Not common.

N. Vietnam, Ha Giang prov., Quan Ba distr., Can Ti municipality,
vicinities of Sing Xuoi Ho village (N 23°04′ E 104°59′), 26.2 km to
002° of Ha Giang city. Primary closed evergreen mixed wet mossy forest
(with Cupressus, Taxus, Nagea and Pseoudotsuga) along tops of karst
remnant limestone ridge at elev. 1100-1150 m a.s.l. Lithophytic
creeping forb on shady cliffs. Leaves above green with deep green
tesselation, below pink-violet. Not rare.
