Gia Lai Prov., Chu Pah Distr., Chu Dang Ya Municipality, village Ha Bau, mt. Chu Nam, to the north of Dang Ri mt. (14ø09'N, 107ø03'E), 950-1000 m a.s.l., granite. Clustered lithophytic orchid. Foot of leaves and bracts with violet dots. Scattered in logged primary closed evergreen seasonal broad-leaved forest (with Lithocarpus sp., Castanopsis sp., Shorea sp., Dipterocarpus sp., Parkia sumatrana, Rhodoleia championi, Schima wallichii, Nephelium sp., Michelia sp., Gironniera subaequalis, Syzygium sp.sp., Canarium sp., etc.) mixed with bamboos in open places.

Foot of leaves and bracts with violet dots. Scattered in logged primary closed evergreen seasonal broad-leaved forest (with Lithocarpus sp., Castanopsis sp., Shorea sp., Dipterocarpus sp., Parkia sumatrana, Rhodoleia championi, Schima wallichii, Nephelium sp., Michelia sp., Gironniera subaequalis, Syzygium sp.sp., Canarium sp., etc.) mixed with bamboos in open places.

(N 12° 06′, E 108° 39′). Epiphyte on high trees. Flowers yellow-brown, central sepal white with purple-brownish center. Rare.

Closed primary broadleaved mt forest along mt ridge in 5-6 km to NNW from main Bi Dup peak at 1800-1900 m alt. (N 12° 07′, E 108° 41′). Epiphyte on high trees. Sepals and lip olive-yellowish, synsepalum pale green, sepal greenish with purple-brown center and white margin. Not common.

Remnants of primary open mossy wet mixed forests with Pseudotsuga brevifolia along tops of limestone karst remnant ridge at elev. 1200-1250 m a.s.l. Terrestrial and lithophytic forb on mossy shady rocky steep slopes and cliffs, mostly of N exposition. Leaves white-green tesselated above, heavy violet spotted below. Locally common.

Vietnam, Dak Nong Prov., Dak Glong Distr., Dak Plao Municipality, steep mountain slopes along main ridge of Ta Dung mountain system at elevation 1700-1985 m a.s.l. around point of highest peak at 11°51′30″N 108°02′08″E. Primary broad-leaved evergreen closed wet mossy cloudy forest on crystalline highly metamorphosed sandstone. Epiphytic and lithophytic rosulate herb on mossy shady cliff. Leaves uniform green, with dirty purple-violet marks at the base. Not common.

Terrestrial and lithophytic rosulate herb in shady places along ridge and on high part of mountain slope. Leaves contrastly tessellated above, dark dirty purple below. Common. Extensively collected in the area for sale to Chinese dealers.

Primary closed evergreen mixed wet mossy forest (with Cupressus, Taxus, Nagea and Pseoudotsuga) along tops of karst remnant limestone ridge at elev. 1100-1150 m a.s.l. Lithophytic and terrestrial forb on very steep rocky mossy slopes. Leaves with whitish-deep green tesselation. Locally abundant both on slopes S and N exposition. Occasional codominanthe of lithopytic forb communities.

N. Vietnam, Ha Giang prov., Yen Minh distr., Lao Va Chai municipality, vicinities of Lao Va Chai village (N 23°07′ E 105°08′), 35.9 km to 27° of Ha Giang city. Primary wet evergreen broadleaved closed forest on very steep slope of karst remnant limestone ridge at 1400-1550 m alt. Lithophytic and terrestrial forb on very steep rocky slope. Leaves with white green tesselation above, dirty violet spotted below. Common.

N. Vietnam, prov. Cao Bang, distr. Tra Linh, municipality Quang Vinh (N 22°51′ E 106°14′), about 21 km from Cao Bang town to the N. Open primary coniferous forest (with Pseudotsuga brevifolia) along tops of remnant limestone ridge at 850-900 m alt. Epilite forn in shadow rock crevices on vertical cliffs of N exposition. Leaves above with fine deep green-white tesselation, below heavily spotted with dirty violet. Rare.

N. Vietnam, prov. Cao Bang, distr. Nguyen Binh, municipality Ca Thanh (N 22°44′ E 105°50′). Primary semideciduous mixed forest along tops of remnant karst limestone ridge at 1350-1400 m elev. Terrestrial and lithophyte herb mostly on cliffs of N and W exposition near ridge tops. Flowers: tepals pink with reddish-brown stripes, lip white with pink margin and base. Not rare, but flowering samples not common.

Old open mixed semideciduous and coniferous (with Pseudotsuga brevifolia) primary forest along tops of limestone ridge and on steep slopes near ridge tops at 1350-1450 m alt. Epilite and terrestrial stoloniferous herb (with underground stolones up to 25 cm lg) on bluffy steep slopes mostly of E exposition. Leaves below heavily spotted with deep dirty violet, above deep green with fine white - deep green tesselation. Not rare. Dispersed and full pods are observed at Oct. - Nov.

Open primary mixed mossy semideciduous and coniferous forest along tops of limestone ridge at 650-700 m alt. Epilite stoloniferous herb on steep bluffs N exposition near top of ridge at 650-700 m alt. Leaves below finely spotted with deep dirty-violet, above finely contrast deep green-white tesselated. Flower stalk 20-25 cm lg. Not common.
