Primary closed evergreen mixed wet mossy forest (with Cupressus, Taxus, Nagea and Pseoudotsuga) along tops of karst remnant limestone ridge at elev. 1100-1150 m a.s.l. Epiphyte. Rare.

Flowered in cultivation in June-July 2001. Flowers odorless; sepals and lateral petals yellow-brown, warty outside, brown-chocolate inside; lip white, light brown-yellowish at the base; midlobe deep purple-violet, striped with white; side lobes white, yellow at the base, with violet tint at the apex; column light violet; anther cup white. pollinia brightly yellow. Scape and flower bracts dull green mottled with dirty-purple, pedicell and ovary green flushed with purple.

Grassy-sedges swampy Pinus kesiya forest on high terrace of river valley at the base of hills at 1450 m alt. in 6-7 km from Bi Dup main peak to the W. Herb with inflorescence up to 2 m hg. Tepals brownish-pink inside, greenish-white outside, lip brownish-purple with yellow margin of epichile. Not common.

Quoc Toan, wet shadow evergreen forest on N clopes of remnant limestone mountains at 650-750 m alt. near Thang Heng lake in environs of Thang Hen and Kung Tao villages. Terrestrial herb to 1.5 m high. Flowers white, then yellowish, the lip light violet. Not common.

Terrestrial herb with inflorescence up to 1.5 m hg in open place on wet clay-lateritic soil on shales in open secondary shrubs and short tall grasslands. Flowers odorless: tepals outside white, inside brownish-purple, lip deep purple-violet. Not rare.
