Remnants of primary broad-leaved evergreen and coniferous forest along rocky tops of rocky ridges and mesae composed with light gray solid marble-like highly eroded crystalline limestone.

Epiphyte. Flower tepals dull yellowish, lip brown-purple-violet. Very common.

Primary broad-leaved evergreen closed forest on very steep slopes and

cliffs near and on tops of rocky ridge composed with solid marble-like

stratified limestone.

Epiphyte on high trees. Flowers: tepals dull olive-yellowish, lip from

deep violet-purple to dull olive-yellowish with brown-purple marks.

Common.

hills at elev. about 400 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on open places on tops of

hills. Flowers dirty yellowish with purple tint, lip dull yellowish

with dirty purple-violet markings. Occasional.

N. Vietnam, prov. Cao Bang, distr. Ha Lang, municipality Thanh Nhat (N

22ø41' E 106ø40'), about 42 km to E from Cao Bang town. Primary open

coniferous and mixed semideciduous forest along tops of remnant

limestone ridge at 600 m alt. Epilite herb on open rocks. Flowers pale

green. Very common at 500-600 m alt.

Heavily logged primary evergreen dry broad-leaved forest on very steep

slopes and cliffs composed with crystalline highly eroded marble-like

limestone along Ba Be lake at elevation 200-250 m a.s.l.

Epiphyte. Flowers light green. Common.

Flowers light green. Very common.
