N.Vietnam, Cao Bang Prov., Trung Khanh Distr., Ngoc Khe Municipality, Pac Nga village, around point 22º54'59''N, 106º31'44''E, at elevation 800-850 m a.s.l.

Remnants of primary broad-leaved evergreen and coniferous forest along rocky tops of rocky ridges and mesae composed with light gray solid marble-like highly eroded crystalline limestone.

Epiphyte. Flower tepals dull yellowish, lip brown-purple-violet. Very common.

700-850 m a.s.l. (Tang Gia mountain).

Primary broad-leaved evergreen closed forest on very steep slopes and
cliffs near and on tops of rocky ridge composed with solid marble-like
stratified limestone.

Epiphyte on high trees. Flowers: tepals dull olive-yellowish, lip from
deep violet-purple to dull olive-yellowish with brown-purple marks.
Common.

N. Vietnam, prov. Ha Giang, distr. Dong Van, municipality Ho Quang Phin, vicinities of Ta Xa village, 14-16 km to SSW of Dong Van town (N 23ø16' E 105ø22'). Primary very wet mossy cloud mixed forest (with domination of Tsuga chinensis and Pinus kwangtungensis) along tops of karst remnant limestone ridge at 1550-1600 m elev. Epiphyte. Flowers: tepals green with dirty purple tint, lip deep black-violet. Not common.

Secondary closed broad-leaved evergreen forest and scrub on rocky steep slopes of remnant mountains composed with solid highly eroded crystalline deep gray limestone.

Creeping lithophyte on steep rocky slope near top of mountain. Flowers white, anther yellow. Common. Leaves deep green-brown with three pink longitudinal nerves.

Son La Prov., Van Ho Distr., Xuan Nha Municipality, Pu Lau village, territory of Xuan Nha natural reserve.

Remnants of primary and secondary broad-leaved evergreen dry forest on cliffs and on very steep slopes of remnant hill composed by highly eroded stratified dark gray shale limestone at elevation 500-700 m a.s.l. around point 20°40’35.4’’N 104°48’14.3’’E.

Lithophyte on shady mossy cliffs near rocky mountain top. Flowers light green to yellowish. Abundant.

Primary broad-leaved evergreen closed wet forest on SW slopes composed with crystalline highly metamorphosed sandstone.

Epiphyte on tall mossy tree. Flowers light green. Not common.

Vietnam, Ha Giang Prov., Quan Ba Distr, about 2 km to the NE of Quan Ba town, around point 23º05’49’’N, 105º01’00’’E at elevation about 1150 m a.s.l.

Primary coniferous forest with Calocedrus rupestris, Callitropsis vietnamensis and Pseudotsuga sinensis on rocky highly eroded marble-like limestone remnant mountains.

Lithophytic herb on very steep rocky mossy slope. Flowers light greenish. Not rare.

green. Very common at 500-600 m alt.
