Odontochilus aureus Aver. Epitype

Nghe An Prov., Ky Son Distr., Na Ngoi Municipality, eastern slopes of Phu Xai Lai Leng Mountain. Primary and secondary broad-leaved forest on steep mountain slopes composed of sandstone and gray shale at elevation 1300-2000 m a.s.l. around point 19°12’54’’N 104°12’01’’E. Creeping terrestrial herb on shady steep slope. Leaves nearly almost black with median whitish stripe. Not common.

S. Vietnam, Prov. Kontum. Close evegreen primary forest on N slope of Ngoc Linh mountain system at 2100 m alt. Terrestrial herb in shadow wet places along stream, sometimes abundant. Leavers very deep green.

Laos, Khammoune prov., Boualapha distr., Nong Seng village, Vang Phae Lay mountain, around point 17°31'02.7"N, 105°47'17.2"E.

Primary dry evergreen and semideciduous broad-leaved forest on very steep rocky slope near karstic hill top composed with solid, marble-like highly eroded limestone at 300-530 m a.s.l.

Miniature terrestrial and lithophytic herb on steep shady rocky slope. Occasional. Seeds collected only.

Herbarium prepared from plant grown from seeds in 10.03 2021. Flowers entirely green, anthers pale yellowish to almost white. L. Averyanov, AL 909a.2 (Garden Number 18176).

Primary dry evergreen and semideciduous broad-leaved forest on very steep rocky slope near karstic hill top composed with solid, marble-like highly eroded limestone at 300-500 m a.s.l. Terrestrial herb in shady places, leaves pale unufornly green. Occasional.

Epiphyte on mossy tree on very steep shady rocky slope. Not common.

Remnants of broad-leaved evergreen closed primary forest on steep mountain slopes composed with sandstone at elev. about 1100 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on tall mossy trees. Flowers orange. Not common.
