Son La Prov., Quynh Nhai Distr., Muong Chien Comm., Muong Chien Vill., 600-900 m, around point 21°50′50”N, 103°32′10”E), about 2 km to W of Quynh Nhai FPD Station (around point 21°50′10”N, 103°34′12”E, 203 m), medium and upper parts of slope of limestone mountains. In completely logged and suffered from fire primary closed evergreen broad-leaved submontane scrubs. Scattered. Epiphyte perennial herb.

Son La Prov., Son La City, Chieng Co Municipality, around point 21°18′24”N 103°52′53”E. Secondary evergreen dry open broad-leaved forest on very steep rocky slopes and on tops of remnant mountain composed with highly eroded marble-like solid crystalline limestone at elevation 800-900 m a.s.l. Creeping epiphyte on old tree canopy branches along rocky tops of ridge. Not common.

Houphan Prov., Viengxay Distr., Xieng Luong village, around point 20°22′06.1′'N 104°17′18.6′'E. Primary and secondary broad-leaved evergreen dry forest on very steep rocky slopes of highly eroded mountains composed by solid marble-like limestone at elev. 600-700 m a.s.l. Small creeping adpressed epiphyte on old mossy tree on mountain top. Flower buds pink-purple. Rare.

N. Vietnam, Thanh Hoa prov., Ba Thuoc distr., Co Lung municipality, territory of Pu Luong protected area, near Co Lung village (20°27′28′'N, 105°12′18′'E). Primary broad-leaved evergreen forest on tops of remnant highly eroded karst limestone ridge at elev. 550-600 m a.s.l. Creeping epiphyte on stem of old tree Pistacia veinmanniifolia. Rare. Flowers buds light violet.

Flowered in culture in 05 May 2001. Flowers odourless, sepals purple-violet, petals white, sidelobes and median lobe of the lip purple-violet, base of lip and spur white with purple-violet tint, anther brightly yellow. Median lobe on distal surface with two fleshy cushions separated by narrow cleft.

Plant cultivated in private garden of Mr Vo Van Cong in Pleiku City, originated from Gia Lai province, Mang Yang district, with no exact locality. Purchased in September 2015 by V.V. Cong.

Vietnam, Quang Binh Prov., Minh Hoa Distr., Thuong Hoa Municipality, about 2 km to E of Ban On village (17°40′21′'N, 105°58′00E).

Heavily logged primary and secondary closed evergreen broad-leaved forest and scrub on rocky ridge composed with solid and stratified marble-like highly eroded crystalline limestone at elevation 550-650 m a.s.l.

Epiphyte (on Phyllanthus spp., Pistacia cucphuongensis, Memecylon sp., Alstonia guangxiensis, Quercus sp., Pittosporum sp.), along tops of ridge. Sepals purple-violet, lip white. Very common.

Remnants of primary broadleaved evergreen wet forest on quartzites along Mit Noi river between Ho Mit and Ban Thao villages at elev. 1100 m (SSW macroslope of Hoang Lien Son ridge). Epiphyte on mossy tree along open stream rocks. Rare.

Degraded primary evergreen and semideciduous forest on very steep rocky mountain slopes composed by solid marble like highly eroded limestone at elev. 500-650 m a.s.l. Short stem epiphyte on mossy trees on rocky mountain tops. Flowers: tepals yellowish-green, lip apex purple. Locally common.

Epiphyte on old mossy trees on rocky mountain top. Fruits pale dull yellowish-green. Not common.
