Primary coniferous forest with Pinus kwangtungensis and Calocedrus rupestris on very steep rocky slopes of remnant mountain composed with highly eroded solid limestone at elevation 1000-1150 m a.s.l. Canopy epiphyte on old mossy tree. Occasional.

Flowered under cultivation at May-June 2011. Tepals light pink-purple with median white stripe, lip white, side lobes yellow, epichile deep purple with median white stripe, column white, anther cap purple, beak white. Photos.

Vietnam, Binh Phuoc Prov., Phuoc Long Distr., Bu Gia Map Municipality, along Dak Bo stream, around point 12°16′17″N 107°11′30″E at elev. about 300-350 m a.s.l. Primary and secondary closed evergreen and semi deciduous broad-leaved lowland dry forest and open woodlands on hill slopes on basalt and shale mother rocks. Epiphytic vine 0.6-1.5 m long. Tepals white with brown-purple spots, lip white with small purple marks. Very common. Locally abundant, co-dominant in epiphytic communities in the area.

Vientiane Prov., Vang Vieng Distr., Nathong village, about 5 km to the W of Vang Vieng town, Tham Kang Mt., around point 18°55′51.4”N 102°23′50.6”E. Dry broad-leaved primary and secondary evergreen forest on very steep rocky slopes and on vertical cliffs of remnant highly eroded rocky limestone mountains composed by solid crystalline limestone at elevation 300-400 m. Epiphyte on tall trees. Flower buds pink. Not rare.

Collected in Nguyen Van Canh garden (Buon Ma Thuot). 5 December 2014, CPC 7689 living plant. Coll. L.Averyanov, N.V.Duy, N.T.Hiep, Quach Van Hoi.

Remnants of primary broadleaved evergreen forest on top of remnant mountain composed with solid highly eroded limestone at elevation 1000-1100 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on old mossy tree on rocky top of mountain. Not common.
