Thai Nguyen Prov., Dong Hy Distr., Tan Long Mun., Mo Ba vill., around point 21?45′24″ N, 105?52′34″ E, 439 m a.s.l. Scattered in rather shady places of heavily logged closed evergreen broad-leaved lowland forests on slopes of limestone mountains. Perennial herb, up to 0.3-0.6 m tall; flowers whitish.

Primary evergreen broad-leaved mossy forest on tops and along ridge edge composed with solid crystalline limestone at elevation 700-750 m a.s.l. Terrestrial herb in shady depression between ridge tops. Flowers white. Common.

Quang Binh Prov., Minh Hoa Distr., Thuong Hoa municipality, environs of Mo O O O village, around point 17°39’21.1”N 105°54’41.7”E. Closed broad-leaved evergreen primary forest on steep rocky slope of middle part of remnant mountain composed with highly eroded solid crystalline limestone at elevation 400-450 m a.s.l. (mt summit at about 570 m). Terrestrial herb to 1.5 m tall. Flowers white. Very common.

Secondary closed evergreen seasonal broad-leaved lowland forest on alluvia valley between limestone hills at elev. about 300 m a.s.l. Terrestrial herb up to 15 cm tall in shady place. Flower buds white. Rare.

Northern Vietnam, Ha Tinh Prov., Huong Son Distr., Son Kim Municipality, in the vicinity of Rao An village, around point 18ø24'30''N, 105ø13'13''E. Remnants of primary evergreen lowland seasonal broad-leaved forest on very steep granite/shale slopes of rocky river canyon at 180-200 m a.s.l. Terrestrial herb 20-30 cm hg.

Flowers with strong sweet fragrance, white, lip with yellowish-green center. Locally common.

Quang Nam Prov., Dai Loc Distr., Dai Hong municipality, environs of Dai Hong town around point 15°49’44”N 107°57’19”E. Remnants of primary and secondary dry broadleaved evergreen forest on rocky sandy uplifted plateau composed with eroded sandstone at elev. about 550 m a.s.l. Lithophytic herb with pendent shoots to 1 m long on vertical shady mossy cliffs. Flowers white. Not rare.

Very common.

Vietnam, Thua Thien – Hue Prov., Huong Thuy Distr., Duong Hoa Municipality, Huong Thuy forest enterprise territory, around point 16°13'25''N, 107°34'09''E, rocky quartzite outcrops along Mang Chan ridge at elevation about 825 m a.s.l. Fractionally logged primary closed evergreen broad-leaved forest along ridge tops composed with white eroded quartzite. Epiphyte and lithophyte. Flowers white. Locally abundant.

Primary coniferous and mixed semideciduous open forest (with Pseudotsuga brevifolia) along tops of limestone ridge at 800 m alt. Epiphyte. Flowers yellow, lip with brown-purple marks. Not common.

Creeping epiphyte on old trees near rocky top of mountain. Flowers yellow. Not common.

S. Vietnam, Prov. Lam Dong, distr. Lac Duong, municipalite Da Chay, in 29-31 km to NNE from Dalat city. Old open secondary dry coniferous mt forest with domination of Pinus kesiya at 1550-1700 m alt. in 8-10 km from Bi Dup main peak to the W (N 12° 07′, E 108° 36′). Epiphyte mostly on Lyonia and Lithocarpus. Flowers deep purple. Very rare.

Primary humid evergreen broad-leaved forest on very steep rocky slopes and on tops of remnant mountain composed with highly eroded marble-like solid crystalline limestone at elevation 1350-1500 m a.s.l. Lithophytic creeping herb on tops of ridge. Flowers white, lip white with yellow apex and dark purple stripes on side lobes. Very common.

Vientiane Prov., Vang Vieng Distr., Phol Xai village, about 8 km to the W of Vang Vieng town, Phar Poon Mt., around point 18°56′11.5”N 102°20′05.0”E. Dry broad-leaved primary and secondary evergreen forest on very steep rocky slopes and on vertical cliffs of remnant highly eroded rocky limestone mountains composed by solid crystalline limestone at elevation 300-900 m. Epiphyte on mossy trees on rocky tops of mountain at elevation 800-900 m. Tepals yellow with orange-brown spots, lip white. Not common.
