Degraded primary evergreen and semideciduous forest on very steep rocky mountain slopes composed by solid marble like highly eroded limestone at elev. 1000-1150 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on tall trees on rocky slope near mountain top. Flowers light yellowish. Locally common.

Primary and secondary broad-leaved evergreen dry forest on very steep rocky mountain slopes composed by solid marble-like highly eroded limestone at elev. 1050-1150 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on old trees on mountain top. Flowers light yellow-green. Not common.

Son La Prov., Yen Chau Distr., Muong Lum Municipality, Na Hat village around point 21°00′35”N 104°29′06”E. Primary coniferous forest with Pinus kwangtungensis and Calocedrus rupestris on very steep rocky slopes of remnant mountain composed with highly eroded solid limestone at elevation 1000-1150 m a.s.l. Canopy epiphyte on old mossy tree. Occasional.

Vietnam, Lao Cai Prov., Sa Pa Distr. Vicinities of Sa Pa town. Mountain forest at elev. about 1500 m a.s.l. Wild collected plants cultivated in private nursery. Flowers odorless. Sepals and petals brown with indistinct yellowish spots, lip brown with white base and white side-lobes speckled with purple, column white, anther light yellowish. Epiphyte. Not rare.

Dien Bien Prov., Tua Chua Distr., Trung Thu Municipality, Trung Thu Village, around point 21°55′38”N 103°18′05”E. Highly degraded primary evergreen broadleaved forest on very steep slopes and along remnant ridge composed with solid limestone at elevation 1350-1450 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on old mossy trees. Flower light to dark brown, tepals tessellated with dark brown nerves, lip brown, lip side lobes white with yellow or brown tint, column white to violet, anther light yellow. Common.

S. Vietnam, Prov. Lam Dong, distr. Lac Duong, municipalite Da Chay, 35 km to NE from Dalat city. Old closed evergreen broadleaved secondary forest rich in primary elements along mt river on W macroslope of Bi Dup mt system at 1500 m alt.
(N 12° 08′, E 108° 39′). Epiphyte. Tepals yellowish with brown tesselation, mesochile with purple-brownish stripes, sidelobes white with pink tint. Rare.

N.Vietnam, Prov Lai Chau. Broadleaved forest on limestone at elevation at about 1000 m. a.s.l. Flowered in Hanoi private collection at May 2003. Coll. L.Averyanov and N.T.Hiep. Flowers: tepals light green with brown tint along margin, lip white, with deep purple-violet inside surface of side lobes and purple-violet stripes on the epichile. column and anther white. Rare.

Lao Cai Prov., Sa Pa Distr., slopes of Hoang Lien Son Range in vicinities of Sa Pa town. Evergreen broad-leaved montane forest on very steep mountain slopes at elevation about 1500-1800 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on tall mossy trees. Flowers light green, lip yellowish-green. Not common.
