Primary evergreen broad-leaved lowland forest on very steep hill slopes and along mountain ridge composed with stratified shale and sandstone at elev. about 400-550 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on tall trees. Not rare.

36-38 km to NE from Dalat city. Closed primary dry evergreen

broadleaved mt forest at 1550-1600 m alt. in 12-14 km from Bi Dup main

peak to the NNW (N 12° 08', E 108° 39').

Epiphyte on high trees. Not rare.

vicinities of Kim Son village (N 21º48' E 105º54'), 23.3 km to 18º of

Thai Nguyen city. Primary closed evergreen broadleaved forest on steep

rocky slopes and cliffs of remnant karst limestone ridge at about

100-200 m a.s.l. Lithophyte on shady rocks. Very common.

Vietnam, Tay Ninh Prov., Tan Bien Distr., Tan Binh Municipality, Ta Not FP Station, around point 11°37’43”N 105°52’26”E. Slightly logged primary closed evergreen broad-leaved lowland forest with the dominance of species of Dipterocarpaceae (Dipterocarpus dyeri, D. costatus, D. alatus, D. obtusifolius, Shorea sp.) mixed with Lagerstroemia calyculata, Irvingia malayana, Anogeissus acuminata, Sindora siamensis, Pterospermum sp., on thin soils at elevation about 13 m a.s.l. Epiphyte in canopies of tall old trees. Locally common.

vicinities of Ban Lung and Lung Phuc (N 22ø46' E 106ø44'), about 50 km

to E from Cao Bang town. Open primary mixed mossy semideciduous and

coniferous forest along tops of limestone ridge at 650-700 m alt.

Epilite herb up to 1 m hg on tops of ridge.

semideciduous broadleaved forest along tops of remnant karst limestone

ridge at 650-700 m elev. Epiphyte and lithophyte creeping herb.

Flowers: tepals pink-violet, lip yellow with pink-violet apex margin

and whitish base. Not rare.

Vietnam, Dac Lac Prov., Buon Don Distr., Krong Na municipality, Yok Don NP, 12º51’39’’N 107º41’49’’E. Dry open dipterocarp forest and grassy woodlands with short bamboo on ferralite thin weathered soils at elevation about 200 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on Dipterocarp tree. Locally very common. Flowers light yellowish-green, lip with brown side-lobes.

Secondary and primary evergreen closed forest on very steep mountain slopes composed with granite and quartzite at elevation from 1500 to 1900 m a.s.l.Epiphyte and lithophyte along mossy ridge edge. Flowers white to light yellowish, lip orange. Locally common.

Vietnam, Thua Thien – Hue Prov., Nam Dong Distr., Huong Son Municipality, around point 16°10'22''N, 107°36'24''E. Fractionally logged primary closed broad-leaved evergreen lowland forest along La Ma River on very steep hill slopes composed with clayey shale and sandstone at elevation about 300 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on mossy tall trees along rocky stream valley. Flowers odorless, tepals white with light violet tint, lip bright yellow with white or very light violet apex. Occasional.
