Remnants of primary broad-leaved evergreen forest on tops of hills composed with karstic highly eroded yellow-white limestone at elevation 1150-1250 m a.s.l. Creeping epiphyte and lithophyte on mossy trees and rocks on mountain top. Flowers yellowish, lip dark breow-violet. Common.

Remnants of dry mossy open coniferous forest with Pseudotsuga brevifolia along tops of remnant limestone karst ridge at elev. 1250-1300 m a.s.l. Lithophyte and epiphyte vine 0.5-0.8 m long. Flowers odourless: tepals ochraceous, lip white, epichile deep purple-brown, gypochile white with purple marks, also column at front; anther cap white. Abundant.

Heavily logged primary and secondary closed evergreen broad-leaved forest and scrub on rocky ridge composed with solid and stratified marble-like highly eroded crystalline limestone at elevation 550-650 m a.s.l. Epiphyte (on Phyllanthus sp., Pistacia cucphuongensis, Memecylon sp., Quercus sp., Allospondias lakonensis, Choerospondias axillaris, Pterospermum spp.) and lithophyte on shady slope of N exposition. Common.

Primary broad-leaved and mixed humid evergreen forest (with Podocarpus, Pinus, Fokienia and Tsuga) on very steep slopes and along rocky ridge composed with solid crystalline highly eroded limestone at elevation about 1500-1550 m a.s.l. around point 22°49′15.4″N 105°49′53″E. Lithophytic and terrestrial herb in shady places on rocky mountain slopes. Leaves uniform green, petiole dull purple. Flowers pink, ovary purple, anthers and stigma yellow. Very common.
