Paphiopedilum helenae Aver.

Lang Son Province, Bac Son District. Secondary scrub and secondary evergreen broad-leaved forest on remnant limestone hills composed with highly eroded solid crystalline limestone at elevation 600-700 m a.s.l. Lithophytic rosulate herb on cliffs near hill top. Flowers uniform yellow, median sepal with brown at the basal third, sometime with unclear white margin. Presently very rare.

Terrestrial herb to 1.5 m tall on steep, rather open rocky slope. Flowers white. Common.

Primary and old secondary broad-leaved evergreen forest on steep slopes composed with solid shaly limestone at elevation 900–950 m a.s.l. Terrestrial and lithophytic herb to 0.5 m tall on steep, rather open rocky slope. Leaves and petioles uniform green, flowers white, anthers and stigma yellow. Very common.

Not rare.
