Terrestrial and lithophytic herb to 1 m tall on steep rocky slope in shady wet place, leaves and stems uniform green with dense light green hairs, flowers pure white, tepals and ovary outside with long light green hairs, anthers and stigma yellow. Rare.

Humid dense primary evergreen broad-leaved and coniferous forest with Pinus krempfii on granite and gneiss at elevation 1500–1600 m a.s.l. Tree to 40 m tall and 1.5 m DBH. Locally common along ridge tops.

Fractionally logged primary evergreen broad-leaved and mixed forest with Dacrydium, Dacrycarpus and Pinus latteri on granite at elevation about 900 m a.s.l. Palm-like plant with ascending few branched stem to 1 m tall in wet rocky place along small forest stream. Fruits green. Not rare.

Perennial terrestrial or lithophytic miniature herbs about 5 cm tall, flower light pink, whitish blue, not common, grows with moss on shaded places of steep or vertical slopes or cliffs.
