Secondary broad-leaved evergreen lowland forest on montane hills composed with shale. Creeping herb along rocky stream. Spathe deep dirty purple. Very common.

Northern Vietnam, Ha Tinh Prov., Huong Son Distr., Son Kim Municipality, in the vicinity of Rao An village, around point 18ø22'00''N, 105ø13'13''E. Remnants of primary evergreen lowland seasonal broad-leaved forest on steep granite\shale slopes of rocky river canyon at 200-240 m a.s.l. Terrestrial creeping herb among open rocks in swampy place along streamlet. Spathe olive-green with violet tint outside, pink-violet inside. Not common.

Vietnam, Nghe An Prov., Tuong Duong Distr., Tam Quang Municipality, Tung Huong village, along Khe Mat stream around point 19º03’26’’N 104º37’22’’E at elevation about 200 m a.s.l. Lowland closed secondary evergreen forest on steep slopes along rocky stream valley composed with stratified solid shale and sandstone. Terrestrial and lithophytic creeping herb along steep rocky shady stream slopes. Spathe yellowish with brown-purple tint, inflorescence light yellow to white. Locally very common.

Northern Vietnam, Lao Cai Prov., Van Ban Distr., Khanh Yen Ha municipality, to the N of Na Nheo village (in the vicinity of point 21ø59'12''N, 104ø15'49''E). Remnants of primary broad-leaved evergreen lowland and submontane forests on very steep granite and quartzite slopes of river canyon at elev. 400-700 m a.s.l. Terrestrial tuberiferous herb on very steep shady slope. Spathe white with dull brown-violet tessellation, inflorescence axis light violet, male flowers white, female- light green. Inflorescence with pleasant spicy fragrance. Very common.

Vietnam, Dac Lac Prov., Buon Don Distr., Krong Na municipality, Yok Don NP, 12º51’39’’N 107º41’49’’E. Dry open dipterocarp forest and grassy woodlands with short bamboo on ferralite thin weathered soils at elevation about 200 m a.s.l. Aquatic and riparian herb on volcanic rocks in shallow water along stram of Srepok river system. Rare.

Vientiane Prov., Vang Vieng Distr., Na Khun Village, around point 18°52’28”N 102°24’21”E. Remnants of primary evergreen broadleaved forest on flat alluvial valley at the base of high remnant hills composed with solid marble-like highly eroded rocky limestone at elevation around 300 m a.s.l. Aquatic submersed plant in shallow water of small stream. Spathe olive-green outside, inside – whitish with numerous small brown marks. Locally common.

Terrestrial herb on steep rocky shady mossy wet stream slope along water line. Spathe dirty brown. Not common.

Terrestrial herb to 1 m tall in shady place of rocky mountain slope. Flowers white with greenish tint. Common.
