Evergreen shady primary and secondary forest on thin ferralite soils at elevation about 13 m a.s.l. Epiphyte on old tall tree in shady place along stream. Very rare. HLF 7745 28 December 2008 Coll. Flowered under cultivation in September-October 2009. Flowers odorless; sepals dark chestnut-brown; petals yellow, with three orange-red stripes; lip yellow with white apex, lip horns with purple-violet apex; column yellow; operculum white; floral bracts light green, later yellowish to yellow; inflorescence axis green, hairiness white.
