FLORA OF VIETNAM Orchidaceae Juss. Schoenorchis scolopendria Aver., sp.nov. Type
N. Vietnam, Thanh Hoa prov., Ba Thuoc distr., Co Lung municipality, territory of Pu Luong protected area, near Co Lung village (20°27′28′'N, 105°12′18′'E). Primary broad-leaved evergreen forest on tops of remnant highly eroded karst limestone ridge at elev. 550-600 m a.s.l. Creeping epiphyte on stem of old tree Pistacia veinmanniifolia. Rare. Flowers buds light violet. Flowered in culture in 05 May 2001. Flowers odourless, sepals purple-violet, petals white, sidelobes and median lobe of the lip purple-violet, base of lip and spur white with purple-violet tint, anther brightly yellow.
