1825, Bijdr. : 381, Fig. 21. Described from Java. Type ("Java, Salak, Blume 590") - ? Distribution: Vietnam (Khanh Hoa Prov.), Andaman Islands, Malaya, Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan.
S.Vietnam, Prov. Khanh Hoa, Distr. Khanh Le, about 8 km from Khanh Le village to the W along Lieng Ly river at elev. 700-850 m a.s.l. Open primary evergreen mountain forest on river side granite slopes above waterfall. Terrestrial herb in shady place. Occasional.

Flowers odorless; sepals and lateral petals yellow with irregular red purple marks; lip light lemon-yellow with small purple marks at the base; column dull yellow, white toward the base, with longitudinal short purple stripe on each side of stigma, dull red-purple marked on dorsal surface; anther cup and stigma dull yellow; pollinia yellow; ovary green with indistinct pale brownish marks; flower bract green.
