Northern Vietnam, Thai Nguyen Prov., Vo Nhai Distr., Thuong Nung Municipality, in the vicinity of point 21ø48'50''N, 105ø57'05''E. Primary dry evergreen seasonal broad-leaved forest (with Burretiodendron hsienmu as a main co-dominant of the first forest stratum) on highly eroded remnant ridge composed with solid hard marble like limestone at elev. 550 m a.s.l. Lithophytic herb in crevices of shady vertical limestone cliffs of W exposition. Flowers with pleasant Narcissus poeticus fragrance. Tepals white, lateral petals often with finest purple marks near the base or pure white; lip dull yellow with large round purple-brown spots inside; staminode yellow with longitudinally oriented elongated purple-brown marks. Primarily common, presently rare due to commercial collecting.
