N. Vietnam, prov. Ha Giang, distr. Yen Minh, municipality Du Gia, E

slopes of Phu Tha Ca mountain system at 1000-1100 m elev. (N 23ø56' E

105ø13'). Secondary broadleaved wet evergreen forest with remnants of

primary elements on shale very steep slopes. Chlorophylless saprophyte

with erect reddish-purple stem 2-4 m hg in

open place among bamboo. Flowers brightly yellow; lip lobes with red

hairs; column yellow; anther reddish-orange. Rare.
