Epigeneium amplum (Lindl.) Summerhayes

N. Vietnam, Ha Giang prov., Dong Van distr., Ho Quang Phin

municipality (N 23º11' E 105º15'), 48.2 km to 36º of Ha Giang city.

Remnants of dry mossy open coniferous forest with Pseudotsuga

brevifolia along tops of remnant limestone karst ridge at elev.

1250-1300 m a.s.l. Lithophyte and epiphyte vine 0.5-0.8 m long.

Flowers odourless: tepals ochraceous, lip white, epichile deep

purple-brown, gypochile white with purple marks, also column at front;

anther cap white. Abundant.
