Dendrobium hancockii Rolfe, 1903, Journ. Linn. Soc. 36 : 11.

Type: Yunnan ("Yunnan: Mngtze, on rocks at 6000-7000 ft. (Hancock,

581)") - K.

N. Vietnam, Hoa Binh prov., Mai Chau distr., Hang Kia municipality,

near Pa Khong village, (20º44'40''N, 104º52'32''E). Primary

broad-leaved evergreen dry forest with Pinus kwangtungensis along tops

of highly eroded remnant karst limestone ridge at elev. 1300-1440 m

a.s.l. Epiphyte on shady steep slope. Not common. Flowers: bright

yellow, lip bright yellow, sidelobes with very fine short purple

stripes or pure yellow. Flowers with fine pleasant fragrance.
