FLORA OF VIETNAM

Dendrobium chittimae Seidenf.

N. Viet Nam. Ha Giang Province, Quang Ba District, Bat Dai Son

village. Primary forest on limestone with Quercus, Pseudotsuga and

Podocarpus along Chung Ti Tei ridge at elev. 1100-1260 m, 28ø08'11"N,

105ø00'48"E. Epiphyte and lithophyte. Stems dull red-brown, fragile,

usually growing laterlly on steep rocky slopes, pedicel light pink,

outer tepals pink at base than all white, labellum white at tip,

yellow in throat, then red-purple streaked on lateral walls, rostellum

white at tip, streaked in red-purple at base, sweetly fragrant. Rare.
