FLORA OF VIETNAM

Fam. Orchidaceae

Cymbidium ensifolium (L.) Sw.

N. Vietnam, prov. Cao Bang, distr. Bao Lac, municipality Ca Thanh,

about 3 km to SW from Yen Lac village (N 22ø44' E 105ø50'), about 42

km to NWW from Cao Bang town. Primary open coniferous mossy forest

(with Pseudotsuga brevifolia in 1 stratum) along tops of limestone karst

remnant ridge at 1400-1450 m alt. Terrestrial herb on steep shadow

slopes. Flower tepals olive-green with brown stripes, lip dull

yellowish-green with dirty-purple spots. Very common.
