FLORA OF LAOS

Orchidaceae

Coelogyne viscosa Reichenb.f.

Vientiane Prov., Vang Vieng Distr., Na Khun Village, around point 18°52’28”N 102°24’21”E.

Dry open shrubs and remnants of dry open broadleaved forest on very steep slopes and cliffs of high remnant hill composed with solid marble-like highly eroded rocky limestone at elevation 400-600 m a.s.l.

Clustering lithophyte on shelves of vertical rocky cliffs on top of hill. Flowers odorless, white; median lobe of lip yellow with three brown keels; side lobes white with brown pinnate stripes; column white with pink tint; anther cap pink. Locally very common.
