FLORA OF VIETNAM Orchidaceae Paphiopedilum appletonianum (Gower) Rolfe
S. Vietnam, Prov. Lam Dong, distr. Lac Duong, municipalite Da Chay, 40 km to NE from Dalat city. Closed primary wet broadleaved cloud forest on SW macroslope of Hon Giao mt. ridge at 1700-1800 m alt. (N 12° 11′, E 108° 43′). Terrestrial, epilitic or humus epiphytic herb on steep wet shadow slopes of stream canyon. Petals olive-green-brownish with pink tips, sepal greenish, lip olive-green. Rare.
