Primary closed evergreen broad-leaved lowland wet forest on steep slopes of low mountains composed with shale and granite at elevation 500-600 m a.s.l.
Terrestrial achlorophyllous erect herb on shady slope along ridge edge. Fruits black. Flowers buds dirty yellowish with dirty violet apex. Rare.
