Northern Vietnam, Nghe An province, Quy Hop district, Pu Hoat reserve, 19°46’10.0’’N, 104°47’10.7’’E, 993 m a.s.l., on the shore of a fast cascading stream in the primary forest.

Flowered in culture in January and February 2018. Herbarium specimen prepared in 18 February 2018, NLO 054.
